Wilmer Valderrama Signs Overall Deal With Relativity Media

    05.26.2009

Wilmer Valderrama, has signed a multi-year overall deal with RelativityREAL, the reality/alternative television arm of Relativity Media. Valderrama is best known for his portrayal of ‘Fez’ on Fox's long-running hit series THAT 70’S SHOW, and as the creator-producer and host of the long-running hit MTV show YO MAMMA. Today’s announcement, from RelativityREAL CEO Tom Forman, affirms Valderrama will create, develop and executive-produce new series for broadcast and cable networks.

“Wilmer's career is a testament to his ability to push boundaries both in front of the camera and behind it," said Forman.  “At RelativityREAL, we're committed to staying ahead of the curve by being in business with the industry's best, most original, most creative producers. It's a perfect fit."

This marks the second major overall deal for RelativityREAL. The first, with Executive Producers Jay Blumenfield and Anthony Marsh, was concluded in February.

“As an actor and a producer, it’s important to me to work in an environment that encourages creative freedom and exploration of new ideas,” said Valderrama. “Given their track record, I am confident this is exactly the kind of experience I will have with RelativityREAL.”

In addition to a blind script commitment to produce a new show for the Disney Channel, Valderrama voices the title role of ‘Manny Garcia’ in the Playhouse Disney animated series, HANDY MANNY.  Recently, Valderrama executive produced and starred in a one-hour comedy for Fox entitled, THE EMANCIPATION OF ERNESTO. Valderrama’s production company, WV Enterprises, recently sold Nickelodeon a half-hour comedy entitled EARTH TO PABLO, which follows a family who ends up with a teenaged space alien instead of the South American exchange student they expected.  Valderrama is working with MTV to develop a half- hour novella, BROOKLYN SOUND, which revolves around a tough neighborhood where teenagers use their talent and passion to achieve stardom.  Valderrama and WV Enterprises’ Danny Villa will executive produce the project.

Valderrama is repped by UTA, Rigberg Entertainment Group and attorney Michael Gendler.
